What We Do
The Parents & Citizens Association (P&C) works collaboratively with the school administration, representing the parent and community voice. We also play a role in providing additional funding to purchase resources to enhance the learning experience for students at Vardys Road. This is achieved by:
- partnering with the school in procedure development and decision making where appropriate;
- providing opportunities for strengthening and engaging the school community;
- advocating within the school and the broader community;
- providing a forum for parent input, participation and feedback;
- delivering successful fundraising and event programs;
- targeting funds towards the purchase of facilities and equipment for the school;
- delivering a profitable and affordable uniform service that is responsive to parent needs.
Membership of the Vardys Road P&C Association is open to all parents and guardians of students attending the school and to all citizens. Vardys Road P&C Association is always keen to welcome new members and particularly members who access or have an interest in the services provided by the P&C Association, such as our Uniform Shop.
The P&C Association encourages your involvement and participation in our school.
The involvement of parents and carers helps to create a dynamic community at VRPS, with enormous benefit for all our children. Helping out is a great way to be involved in your child’s school life, support the teaching staff, get to know students, other families and contribute to your community.
The P&C rely on its parent community to help with sausage sizzles, raffles, and various other events. You can also join a Committee, become a Coordinator or volunteer to help with events or in the Uniform Shop.
We are all busy with family and work commitments and it is not always possible to help every time a request is made. However, there are many different ways to support the school and we urge you to do what you can, when you can.
You can volunteer your time, expertise and skills or your network of contacts which could help us secure Sponsorship or Donations for our various fundraising activities.

There may be people in our school community who are obliged to undertake volunteer or community work as part of their agreement with Centrelink.
The Vardys Road P&C Association is registered to provide an opportunity for these people to volunteer to our P&C Association activities.
A person can only participate in voluntary work once it has been approved by Centrelink. Centrelink must also agree that the voluntary work position is suitable for the person. If you know someone who may be interested you should suggest that they speak to their employment services provider for more information.
Volunteers will need to bring you a form titled ‘Voluntary Work Verification of Voluntary Work’. This form has a section to complete when work has been undertaken for the P&C Association. The form is available at Centrelink’s website; https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au.
